Marvellous Maths!!
To celebrate Maths Week 2008 and the opening of the Olympics Games, Elm Park School students took part in our school’s first ever Maths Olympiad.
It was a 2 day event where Year 1 – 6 students in teams of 4 answered 20 questions in 30 minutes. Teams relayed answers from one side of the Auditorium to the other.
There were 2 teams from Room 21 competing against two teams from the other Year 6 classes.
It was hard work and a nail biting finish. Room 19’s Team won the first ever Elm Park Maths Olympiad Trophy. Well Done to them!
It was great fun to watch and to take part in. We are all looking forward to taking part in 2009!!

Well Done Room 21!! You were absolutely fantastic. You have trained very hard for these Maths Olympics and you deserved to come 2nd. Fantastic effort!!

I still can’t believe we were so close of getting the Maths Olympiad trophy!!!!!!!
If it wasn’t for us passing questions, we could have one!!!!!
(And we were second, Room 21B!!!!)
YAY again!!!!!
